Beluluane Industrial Park – Free Zone
The Industrial Park of Beluluane-Zona Franca (PIB-ZF), was created through the Internal Resolution of the Council of Ministers n°.15/99, of 12 October. This one located in the Administrative Post of Matola-Rio, District of Boane, Province of Maputo and has an area of around 780ha, with the Mozal Project (180ha) and Industrial Park (600 ha).
The Park includes an Industrial Free Zone and an area for the implantation of projects under a general regime, with the Industrial Free Zone currently covering a total area of 55 hectares. It should be noted that, under the terms of article 59 of the Regulation of the Law of Investment, approved by Decree 43/2009, of 21 August, are eligible for Industrial Free Zone regime, i.e. to settle in the Free Zone, the investment projects whose activities are of an industrial nature and which at least at least seventy percent (70%) of its annual production volume is destined for export.
This enterprise (Beluluene Industrial Park) is operated by company Parque Industrial de Beluluane-Zona Franca, SA, owned by the State Mozambican, represented by APIEX, IP and the company ASEZA-Africa Special Economic Zone Alliance, SA (Swiss-Mozambican investors), this means that its management is the result of a Public Private Partnership (PPP).
There are 32 companies operating in this Park under the ZFI regime, involving a total investment value budgeted at around USD 2.4 billion, which may provide national citizens with 4171 jobs. However, it should be noted that the results of monitoring and evaluation actions to projects under the ZFI regime in the Industrial Park of Beluluane, carried out in the 2nd Quarter of 2021, pointed to a very positive degree of achievement, in terms of investment (an investment in the order of 1.4 billion has been made) and the number of national workers effectively employed (with 5513 workers).
