Nyusi invites Chinese businesses to invest in Mozambique
Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi has invited Chinese businesses to invest in the country’s port infrastructures, as well as in the industrial sector, in order to boost cooperation between the two countries.
Nyusi made the invitation, on Tuesday, in the Chinese city of Jinan, at the opening of the Mozambique – China Business Forum.
According to Nyusi, Mozambique is open to receiving Chinese businesses “to invest in various sectors. I assure you that Mozambique is open. The country has conditions for various investments.”
He listed the opportunities in the hydrocarbon sector, saying that the country has vast reserves of natural gas estimated at more than 200 trillion cubic feet, huge deposits of graphite, rubies and heavy mineral sands.
During his working-visit to China, Nyusi will also attend the 9th summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), which will take place in Beijing, under the slogan: “Hand in Hand Promoting Modernization and Building a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future.”
