False and Defamatory Information about Mozambique on the Booking.com Platform.

The Ministry of Economy, in coordination with the Private Sector, informs the national and international public. visitors, tour operators, partners, and potential visitors that information circulating on the Booking.com platform classifies Mozambique as a country at risk of conflict.

The Ministry hereby clarifies that such information is false. does not correspond to reality, and raises suspicion regarding the intention behind projecting a negative image of the country. It should be noted that the insecurity occurring at times is limited only to part of one district in Cabo Delgado Province.

The national territory of the country, as reported and publicized by many other global booking platforms, remains open to tourism, trade, and the normal circulation of people, goods, and services.

Internationally recognized tourist destinations such as Pemba, Niassa, Mozambique Island, Gorongosa National Park, Vilankulo, Tofo, Barra, Inhambane, Maputo, Ponta do Ouro, among others, are fully operational, safe, available, and ready to welcome visitors.

Mozambique is recognized as a tourism destination of excellence, with beaches, natural reserves, cultural heritage, and hospitality that attract thousands of visitors annually.

The Ministry of Economy has formally notified Booking.com about this false and defamatory statement, demanding its removal from the platform in order to safeguard the country’s image as well as the interests of operators and tourists.

It is reiterated that Mozambique remains open to tourism and international trade and maintains its commitment to ensuring safety, quality, and hospitality to all visitors.
