Nacala SEZ

The Nacala Special Economic Zone (ZEEN) was created by Decree n°76/2007, of December 18th. It is located in Nampula Province, covering the totality of the districts of Nacala and Nacala-à-Velha, with an area of ​​1,539 km².

Due to its nature and dimension, the Special Economic Zone of Nacala, the first Special Economy created at national level is public management, that is, it is up to APIEX, IP develop actions within the scope of its management.

Given its geostrategic location and the existence of the Port of Nacala, the Special Economic Area of ​​Nacala is considered an excellent gateway for entry and exit to Africa, with the potential to attract large investment projects in various sectors of activity, with emphasis on the sectors of logistics,
industry, agro-processing, chemical industry.

So far, the Nacala EEZ has 194 investment projects authorized for the Special Economic Zone regime, having been approved investment projects in the order of US$ 2,445,161,477.03, with a forecast to create
25018 jobs for nationals.
